Cookies 'N Cream Ice Cream: Special Edition

Sometimes you go to the grocery store looking for traditional Oreo's for making cookies 'n cream ice cream. Sometimes you hope that they'll have the mint Oreo's in stock. And then sometimes when you get to the snack/cookie row, you find that not only are there regular Oreo's, mint Oreo's, springtime Oreo's and all the other normal Oreo's, but that there are BIRTHDAY CAKE Oreo's. Then you start hyperventilating with excitement because there are few desserts that you love more than birthday cake ice cream, so you can't even being to imagine what a birthday cake Oreo will be like. You decide to purchase said Oreo's and don't even make it home before ripping the package open and eating one. They. Are. Heavenly. And thus, you ultimately end up creating the best cookies 'n cream ice cream that has ever graced the face of the earth. That is, after you finish off an entire row while you're making the ice cream mixture that needs to be chilled. Details.

Cookies 'N Cream Ice Cream: Special Edition
3/4 cup sugar
2 egg yolks
2 cups heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla
1 row crushed **Birthday Cake** Oreo Cookies

Mix the egg yolks with 1/4 cup of sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in the rest of the sugar until completely combined. Next, stir in heavy cream, milk, and vanilla until all ingredients are as evenly combined as possible. Refrigerate for at least one hour before making ice cream. Follow manufacturers instructions and after about 25 minutes, add crushed Oreos for 5 minutes. Allow to stir in, then enjoy!
